Help with handbrake

does anyone know how to tighten the handbrake on a b7 a4??

Is it not self-tightening?

im not sure but it is pure crap i need t leave it in gear if im on any type of hill lol i take it by your answer that there is no way of tightening it then??

To be honest I've no idea, but I just thought I heard that it self tightened as the pads or whatever wore down. Maybe check in the B6 section?

i would like to know the same question for my B6 auto! anyone find out? is it done from inside the car?

hi

100% handbrake is self adjusting so you cannot / should not do it yourself.
if your handbrake does not hold your car then possibly your pads/disks are worn - you should have a warning on your dash though
tave you looked at your disks ? is there a lip on the inside edge ?
pads - can you see any pad when you look at them ??
