Hi Guys,

Driving home from work my engine warning light came on, happy days. Car is boosting normally and mpg is also fine, in fact everything seems fine which confuses me greatly. When I got home I checked all fluids and everything fine, except when I opened the oil cap the there was a small amount of steam coming out, is this normal? The temperature needle is in the correct position and the light came on about 200m out of work so I doubt its temperature related but then never seen oil steam before? Anyone got ideas?

Thanks in advance!

mine had a similar problem a few years back. my brother -in-law who works for audi upon explaining it to him knew straight away. A common issue. From memory it was some kind of sensor (temp?) - which I was told it was nothing to worry about even if I had left it for a long time.

He didn't even bother with running diag , just brought the sensor with him replaced it and voila light went off and driving no differnet.
