Help, wipers not working!!

Hi, i know this is my 1st post but need some help.

Bought aero arms and wipers off vagparts and after some considerable length of time finally got the old ones off and new ones fitted. Now went to test everything was working so out keys in ignition and the wipers moved downwards, towards the bonnet. Now any time i press the stalk to try to get the wipers to move they only go again down, hitting off the bonnet.
So what i thought was wrong was the wiper motor thought the arms were in the up position so me being a fool, decided to pull the wipers to the up position and see when i turned the wipers on they would simply just wipe down the screen and that's is. While doing this something snapped and now my passenger arm does not move at all when turn the wipers on.

Is there anything i can do to fix this or do i need to go to a pro???!!!

They were put on pointing to the passenger side weren't they? They should have worked as normal unless something got bent when removing or replacing them, you will have to dig all the plastic out above the battery to see if you can fix the mechanism.

Hopefully its a rod you can replace but might mean a whole new wiper assembly.
