HELP! Stability program error, parking brake fault, headlight range control defective

Hi Guys,

I'm getting the following errors/faults and my car won't start when they happen. I need to wait and close the car, and then try again, and eventually it will start without any errors on the dash.

First I get stability program error, then parking brake fault, and lastly headlight range control defective.

It's a 2.0 TDI 143 from 2010, has anyone come accross this, I found one thread, but it's from 2013 and didn't get an answer/solution.

I was thinking maybe the battery needs replacing due to the electric errors popping up out of nowhere as nothing strange has happened to the car to trigger them.

Am totally lost here, as the car works 100% fine when the error doesn't come up.

Hi thanks, I found those too but nothing conclusive, plus I never get anything when driving, as when it starts it's totally fine, it's just that if it doesn't start straight away when pushing the key in then I know I will get the 3 beeps for the same 3 errors, and then I'm stuck for a while.

I just had to replace the battery monitoring control unit 8K0915181E (earth cable with module on it)
I was getting odd codes & the battery was draining when driving at times.

I'm lost, my friend said it might be a relay for the ECU but I can't seem to find any info on it online, at like 10 EUR it's worth a try, I mean I changed the battery 2 days ago as we thought it might be tripping everything out, so 10 EUR would be lovely if it fixes it.

How did you diagnose the cable being faulty?

I had a new battery near the end of last year.The alternator was giving good charge,so with the random codes & odd battery behaviour I deduced that was the problem.
It's been fine since

Doubt that it will help anyone as it's not great use, but in this case my ECU was bad and a replacement was needed.

His reply was just above your one "u/s ECU" needed to replace it.

Had this before on mine when doing the timing belt. had to switch ignition on to roll car forward in/out garage with the front end off.

Can only think it would be because of a sensor unplugged or headlights removed so the xenons couldnt self level.

However, clearing them once everything back together was fine.
