Hi Guys,
2001 S3 8L AMK no modifications (no history of remap either - as far as i know?!)
I'm hoping you can help me as I have come to the end of the road on this one at the moment.
July 2011: The problem seemed to start last year when the car felt low on power, so I diverted past the N249 valve.
July 2011: Then I received a Fuel trim bank (Mult) error. I noticed I had a perished Fuel Pressure Regulator pipe so I replaced it.
Aug 2011: Still had the error so I checked for vacuum leaks and what not, reading the forum for help. Couldn't find anything!
Nov 2011: Replaced the N75 valve (part from Audi) as I read that this could be an issue.
All winter of 2011 I was scratching my head so I decided to bite the bullet and took it to an Audi/VW specialist in Swansea.
Jan 2012: He checked the pipes under the inlet manifold for leaks and said they were all fine. He then said that when he unplugged the MAF and drove it up the road it was a lot better. I also got him to undivert the N249 valve. He replaced the MAF with a Bosch MAF. The car felt a little better but still not right.
May 2012: Took car to garage and had an intermediate service and ask him to see if he could diagnose the performance issue. He said the spark plugs were ****** and he could not find any issues with the engine.
May 2012: I read after a post from tuffty that if the Bosch MAF was not purchased from Audi then that could be causing an issue. It turns out the Bosch MAF was not from Audi, so I replaced the cheapo Bosch MAF with an Audi Bosch MAF. The car did run a little better, still not performing right!
Jun 2012: I noticed that after accelerating the brake pedal was hard, also after cruise control being on. Then did a bit of research and found that I had a crack in the pipe from the brake servo to the inlet manifold. I thought "YES", I have got it. I replaced the pipe last Saturday morning and last Tuesday evening at 5000rpm the car is still shuddering and engine light flashing. I checked the fault codes and I got the following:
16684/P0300/000768 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
16685/P0301/000769 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
16688/P0304/000772 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
I've read that this could be multiple things!!! As I don't have VAGCOM and am a little stuck does anyone have any ideas on where I should go next?
To top it all of the indicator relay is playing up
.
Any help is appreciated, cheers!
P.S. To top it all off a yellow Ford Puma kept up with me last night....I felt like cr@p!!!!!
