A little back story, I got a 54 plate A3 3.2 V6 which had a Straight Pipe exhaust just recently and when I bought it and drove it home there was no error codes/fault codes. I recently then drove the car again for a much longer period of time and on the way home some the check Engine light came on. There was only 1 error code but now there seems to be 4. Is this because of the straight pipe? I’m not too sure if it’s had a d cat also? I’ve taken pictures of the code (sorry it’s a rubbish obd). Any help would be appreciated!

Hi @J88MXL - I have the 3.2 as well. It was de-catted. When I first drove the car there were no EC lights but after a couple of starting cycles the EC light came on. I’d clear the code and it would stay off for several more start/stop cycles.

I can’t remember the codes specifically but it was to do with flow. I fitted some spacers between the lambda sensors and they sorted the flow errors but I then had bank 1 and bank 2 rich errors. So, I refitted the cats (came with the car) and now no errors at all.

Check if your cats are in/out but that’s possibly the cause - your errors are on both banks.

Thanks mate! Gonna take it to the garage as soon as and get it lifted to properly check. Might need to refit them or get a o2 sensor delete. Thanks for the insight
