Help needed please - control arms??

Having a weird clunking / popping noise over bumps in my 8TA a5 coming from the front left and recently front right. I can hear it more when breaking over bumps. Been told by some mechanics that the control arms need replacing and some didn't even find the issue.

I think it could be the bushings / control arms also. Has anyone experienced this and if so is it worth just changing the Bush or whole control arms?

Does the car pop when accelerating from a dead stop?
