Hi guys
At whits end now more bad things going on with my car!
It’s the TFSI bul engine and today started real rough idle so much it shakes the car abit,
Also making a different noise abit like a knocking noise any ideas most welcome

Could be Pcs valve or the vacuum pipes check for splits in the black hoses as there vacum pipes that run off crank pressure

Have you had it scanned for fault codes mate?

Id start there then hopefully you’ll have an idea of where to start

I did think it could be to do with the PCV valve so I have a ECS catch can kit I’m half way through putting on and a new breather pipe, I’m also going to change the cam follower at the same time some point this weekend.
I have also just got a OBDeleven through the post so if that doesn’t cure it I can plug that in to see what comes up, but a few people have said it’s more than likely the PCV as when I took it off it was pretty sludgy.

I’ve just had it scanned and no codes come up! I’ve replaced the pcv with a ECS oil catch can and replaced the cam follower to no luck still exactly the same,
Loosing all hope at this stage!
Someone said it could be the evap/n80 valve but it’s the loud clicking/ clunking noise that gets me

That’s odd. What was the car running like before it started idling rough? Anything unusual happening?

Mine had a rough idle not long after I bought it. Changed the N80 and it cured it but it wasn’t as bad as yours by the sounds of it

I have no idea really what it could be so she was loaded onto a RAC truck (again) and of to my local Audi specialist to have a look and see what’s wrong with the damn thing but I won’t be spending a fortune on it now as it’s cost me over £2000 in repairs lately

Let us know the outcome.

Unfortunately these cars can be a bit of a money pit. I’ve had mine 6 years. If I add up everything I’ve spent on it I could have bought a b8 S4!!!

So I have just got the car back again and it’s all fixed and lives another day!
The end result was something called a balance shaft sprocket was rattling about!? So the garage fitted an upgraded one and now sounds sweet as a nut so fingers crossed that’s the last repair bill I get for a while
