    Hi all

Hoping someone can help me. I have a 2001 Audi TT 1.8 Quatro 225. The car has a few problems - radiators leaking coolant, Abs lights on and a few other small issues. However the engine is still really good. The mot runs out in July. I'm looking to sell the car for spares or repairs and I've been told that there is quite a big market for that engine type but have no idea what sort of price I should be selling it for. The car still runs and I was thinking it would be easier to sell it as soon as possible so that it can be driven away. Also that means I can get a new one! Any suggestions on pei e or the best way to sell it would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    Hi Loopylou

Are any of these niggles related to the MOT? The radiator certainly isn't. All depends what ABS lights are on... if could just be a faulty sensor. Because the MOT is due in the next couple of months this alone will prejudice the sale of the car (or the amount you could get).

Unfortunately because of the car's age all brands tend to have niggles unless you keep on top of them. You say "a few other issues". What are they?

The best place to sell older cars is on auction sites, but first take it to a Audi independent specialist first and get an estimate. They tend to be far cheaper than big franchised dealerships.

    Hi
    Thanks for replying.
There are no major problems but my mechanic had said that to get the car perfect again its going to cost quite a bit. I have a boot that leaks, an electric window that doesn't always work and for some strange reason the windscreen washer jets have stopped working. I'm thinking of selling for spares or repairs but really don't know how much to advertise it for.
    Thanks

As an Alfa Romeo owner I know how valuable independent specialists can be. Is the leak in the boot water or petrol? If it's water is it not just a dodgy rubber seal? The window seems to be intermittent, so something like a broken wire or loom. Same with the windscreen washer - either electrical or blocked pipes.

If you're determined to sell 'as is' then Fleebay is the best place or a local free paper or magazine.

Do apologise, but as a historian and car lover I hate to see cars broken without exploring every angle with someone who know your car inside out.

Loopylou. What area of the country do you live in? Could you PM me some pictures of the car?

    Cheers, PP

Thanks for the advice . The leaks water. I'm sure it could be fixed and as the engine is great it would make someone a great car. Unfortunately I don't have the time or money to put into it and need a reliable car for work. I will be sad to see her go though. I just have no idea how much I should be selling her for.

Top right hand corner and click on "in box". It'll say 'start new conversation'. Just type in my username.

Once you click on new conversation, it'll look like this:

On Fleebay have a reserve (£500, 750, 1000) and start the auction off at £1.00 and let it run. It will tell whoever's looking at it whether it has met the reserve or not.
