HELP! - error codes after disconnecting battery

Hi all,

I've spent the past couple days installing my reversing camera and also the new Audi UTR camer. All has gone well and working.

However, when I reconnected the battery, besides the usual error codes, I've got additional ones. I've cleared all codes and this is what I've been left with :-

Just an annoying HBA yellow warning triangle on the dash board. It might clear once darkness comes!

Looks like the cam needs basic setting done to get correct distances etc, calibration as such.

Also hex 2 would be needed for the UDS advisory afaik.

Check the humidity sensor is fitted or decode, I think it does come on the rear view mirror in some cars.

Rear camera will need calibrating and I will get that done when time allows.

The Auto HVAC did clear but has come back on again after a drive. Would the aircon need to be on to clear this?

I can't get my head round the HBA and the Navigation! On a Golf forum on a golf the message "New feature! Extended UDS fault detail is only supported by current gen. interfaces" appears to suggest my cable is not good enough.

Seems as though my Genuine registered HEX+CAN isn't good enough for this.

Another cause may be that I've fitted the UTR camera too close to the HBA sensor although I'm sure I used the correct supplied template!

Uds error will be due to using the original hex vcds, you'll need hex 2 or hexnet.

Others may also be down to newer protocols used, find a hex 2 or hexnet user & test the theory or ask support.

Am not 100% sure as I have not installed one as yet but where does the UTR pick up its power.... from the dome lighting area / connections? If so then it looks like you have disturbed the connections to your HBA and RLHS (rain light and humidity sensor), the latter of which is needed in order for your AirCon to work correctly. New VCDS interface or not you should still be able to communicate with the module in question however the VCDS client being able to "understand" it is a different matter.

Re your camera calibration I would not worry. Calibrated or not it will work the same.

Re your navigation issue, control module 37 is not valid for the MQB platform and needs to be removed from your can gateway installation list.

Re range control, the message is nothing to worry about.

Interesting. Fuse’s 34 and 4 have nothing to do with your HBA so all is ok there, and yes switch and perma live connections.

To me is seems like you have a physical issue with your HBA as the control module 20 cannot be taked to according to your scan.

In the fitting instructions there were 3 templates each with 3 fitting positions. If the camera were to impinge on the HBA would that through an error.

Don’t believe so but cannot be sure as I have never tested blocking the HBA camera before. You could try in-mounting the UTR for testing and see if the error goes away. This would not explain why the control module cannot be see however. What headlights does your vehicle have?

Is power for your reversing camera being taken direct from the fuse box or did you use an add-in / tap? If an “add-in” which dude did you tap?

So nothing seems to have been disturbed there then, however there could always been a blown fuse that connects the HBA. I would start by looking at the wiring in the trim above your mirror in order to check that it was not disturbed while installing your camera.

I’m a stupid stupid stupid boy!!! Each positive lead from the UTR camera splits into two fly leads. You remove the pin from the fuse board and then insert one of the fly leads into that position on the fuse board and then insert the original wire into a connect like the picture attached (if that makes sense). I inserted into the wrong side of the connector so effectively breaking the circuit. Well it was late lol. Anyway no harm done!

You remove the pin from the fuse board and then insert one of the fly leads into that position on the fuse board and then insert the original wire into a connect like the picture attached (if that makes sense). I inserted into the wrong side of the connector so effectively breaking the circuit. Well it was late lol. Anyway no harm done!
