Hi guys!
I was about to change my coolant but I can't find the coolant drain tap.
Mine is a 1.9 TDI b7, Bke engine.
I've taken out the driver fog light housing and can see a pipe there. Might be that one?

The coolant drain is on the bottom right corner of the radiator.

You will need to drop the undertray and access it from the engine bay side of the radiator.

Given that you have mistaken the aircon hose for a coolant one, I would suggest you leave it to a garage, to be honest.

I Havent changed it yet.
I found the house you're taking about. Is it this one?

Or there is a bigger house coming out of the radiator at the bottom:

If remove that would the coolant be drained?

Yep, you can see the valve on the right hand side of it.
Hey Cyrix,

I tried opening the valve today but it does just half a turn, its tight and don't want to break it. Does it have to unscrew completely or how many turns in order to open it?

Thanks!

The last couple I have done have been really tight.

It rotates so far and then pulls outwards if I remember rightly.

The other option if you can't get the valve to open, is to release the spring clip that holds the hose to the radiator and remove that instead.

Thanks a lot man! That explains my problem.
Will try tomorrow, worst case I'll remove the radiator hose.

Really appreciate your help!
