I've fallen victim to the clogged heater matrix issue on my 2015 3.0 V6 Bi-TDi A7.

I followed the various forum / youtube suggestions on flushing the matrix last winter and did manage to flush a moderate amount of sediment out but the matrix is clearly still more than partially bunged up.

I caved in and bought a replacement matrix core when we had the really cold snap a few weeks ago and would like to try and get it fitted one weekend soon. Having had a quick nose around in the footwells, I'm assuming gaining access to the HVAC stuff requires the whole centre console to come out?

Has anyone tackled this recently? Are there any 'how-to' guides out there? I'm not opposed to paying for resource if anyone can recommend something worthwhile!

Haven't had to do this, but are you sure its blocked?
The C7/7.5 are notorious when it comes to coolant changes, with air-locks in the system a common problem, usually requiring a dealer or specialist to sort out .

Good luck!

When I flushed it last year, there was a fair amount of sediment that came out and there was a small improvement in the heater output. A bit of time searching this forum and others suggest that this sediment issue is common place and that to fix it properly, requires the matrix to be replaced.

I was very thorough in bleeding the system after the flushing as I replaced as much of the coolant as possible in the system in an attempt to flush everything, but it is interesting to hear that these are a bit of a pain, it certainly felt that way when I was doing it!
