hi ,can anyone give instructions or pictures step by step how to refit new mirror glass on A6 quattro /98 many thanks

yeah just take of old one by angling mirror downwards so theres a gap at top to fit behind, then get a flat solid object to put in this gap in the middle & slowly put pressure on the mirror so it starts coming away from the motor, dont allow to drop or it'll maybe scratch the paintwork, then disconnect the wires, then new one put wires back on & test heated part by turning on rear window demister & wait a minute & feel mirror with hand for any warmth, if not working then switch wires round & retest all with car started of course, then fit in place so equal gaps all round & put equal pressure in middle of mirror so it pops back onto the motor safely, spread the pressure on the mirror in middle so it doesnt crack when fitting, to much pressure on outer areas will crack the glass as its only supported in middle in front of motor really so take care, then test angles with door switch for movement, then all done I'd say.
