heat wrap

i was thinking of getting some heat wrap to put around my hot side intercooler pipe work, im pretty sure it looked like 16Klappe had some on his a3 pipe work.

i just wanted to get people opinions, i think of it this way wrap the pipes and less heat will be dispersed in to the engine bay therefore making the engine bay hotter. the other thing i thought of would be heat soaking the pipes because its got the wrap on but the hot air will be going through the front mount to be cooled down.

i have done some research and some people say its good some say its bad what are your thoughts.

I wouldnt bother to be honest. I took mine for a very spirited drive on the weekend. Pulled over to check under the bonet.the ic pipe off the turbo was warm enough to touch but the throttle body side was ice cold. Don't think there is any need really. If anything, put the heat wrap on the turbo

safe im going to do abit of testing with this to see what happens
