Ok, so it's that dreaded time.....tyre time!

Audi direct have said they have a 6/8 week wait for the tyres my car came with.

Does anyone have any contacts or just so happens to be selling any?

Cheers

R

mytyres seem to have them, quite cheap too!
What are your thoughts on the tyres, have they lasted well, what mileage did you get?

Hi Keef

I've found them great tyres to be honest. By B8 had the dunlops on and the hankooks seem far superior in my opinion.

I've done 9,000 miles and have approx 3mm tread left

Plenty available online.

That said, I've got them fitted on my S4 and wont be replacing them with more. I'm not a fan. Michelin's or Goodyear's for me come replacement.

@Brasso that's why I'm asking as I'm assuming my S4 will turn up with them.
When time to change I will go with Michelin Super Sport, got them currently and can't fault them.

You're going to want Michelin Pilot Sport 4S instead if you have 19" wheels :) They're replacing the MPSS and they have better wet performance.

Interesting. Maybe the more powerful S4 copes better without the Hankooks? I've 'only' got the 190 Stronic S Line (porper!)

I've just used these guys for 4 new tyres (for our little MX-5 not for our B9) they were efficient and inexpensive compared to some others I've used in the past, so can vouch for them - first time I used them too.

I ordered via eBay but drove over and had them fitted by them (Leeds to Shipley isn't far at all) they've a big operation and premises, hence the large amount of tyres they sell.

Never ordered from MyTyres but have heard good things and they are cheaper still:-

Delivery is free on both options I think, just need to source a reliable local tyre fitting specialist.

Good tyre the Korean Handcocks .

Are you saying that only hankooks suffer from delamination or have you something against Koreans?

I got a pair of tyres from Black Circles sent to a local fitter who then said he would have beaten that price. Doh! Always worth asking what the local guys can do for a deal.

The ones you copied are 235's.....I've got 245's
Yes and in that post the 245's were £144 each without fitting. Personally, having experienced a few different makes, I have nothing what so ever against Hankooks and as my car is financed I would stick with what Audi supply. However my personal preference are Michelin's.

What's your beef chief? :D

Back in my younger days, my first decent hooligan car was a Focus ST. I think the stock tyres were continental sport contacts and the grip was phenomenal. Although I think my maximum mileage was 7,000 on the fronts, I realised they were quite a soft rubber, so the grip was good, but I was leaving vast amounts of rubber everywhere I went :D

Do Audi tend to use quite hard compounds then? I've been quite impressed with the stock Pirelli on the S5. They've done well on such a heavy car.
