Hanging revs. between gearchanges

As title, when I push the car the revs. don't drop between gearchanges. Also, if I push it and hold a gear the engine carries on after I've backed off.
Any ideas?

You don't say what car or engine but this is usually the clutch pedal switch or some cars have a pedal position sensor.

Sorry, it's a mapped 2.0 tdi 170.
