Half moon gaskets

My half moon gasket on the right side of the engine is leaking how big of a job is it to do is it a job for a vag specialist . And can I use the rocker cover gasket as its only been on a month ?

I assume you mean the one under the tensioner at the front of the engine as the one at the back is part of the rocker cover gasket..

Basically to replace it you need to undo the inlet cam and the VVT/Tensioner to get access... then replace the half moon seal and tensioner gasket (about a fiver for the kit)

This will give you an idea of whats involved..

Ask the garage to get plenty of sealant under the half moon seal, I had to do mine twice before it stopped leaking mate
