Hi all,
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here but once again I’m here for some help regarding my haldex issues.
Had the car in the morning at a local specialist to diagnose why the traction light was flickering under acceleration and a juddering from the rear wheels, I was told the diff and haldex we’re all fine and to go test the tweaked traction settings. They also mentioned about the rear tyres having 3mm, so I went and got the rear tyres replaced to eliminate that straight away, stopped the car and decided to try launch it to make sure the AWD was working as before.
This is where the car was still 2WD and a massive bang from the back of the car, followed by a constant knocking sound, took it back to the garage for them to then tell me the propshaft has gone, as well as the coupling to the haldex, and the rubber to the doughnut was out/has play (correct me if that’s the wrong terminology).
Now received a nice bill to replace said parts but was wondering would a damaged or on the way out propshaft cause issues with the AWD?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Renox
