Haldex oil and filter change

Hi guys,

Just got my car back from independent Audi/VW garage and had my car serviced.

They replaced my oil and pollen filters for £130.

They then told me my car needs to have haldex oil and filter change but this would have to be done separately.

Is this right? How often does the haldex need changed and how much would I expect to pay for it?

They also said my cam belt needs doing so looks like it will be a costly trip after having already paid for the oil change

Think the Haldex is every 40k would need to know what the engine is to know about the cambelt

Haldex Gen2 filter & oil will cost you about £60 plus the cost of the change. Worth doing if you’re not sure of the history.

If i mind rightly look here ( http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/s3-anything-to-look-out-for.353391/#post-3146468 ) a couple off posts down and that will answer why you get it looked at and if i mind again i am sure another member mentions in a post it isn't a serviceable part going by Audi . So for peace off mind get it serviced strainer , oil and filter

Haldex oil and filter should be changed every 20k.

If not you will end up needing a new pre charge pump costing around £280 plus fitting when your Quattro packs in due to crap building up in oil/filter which in turn blocks fine mesh on pump which will then overheat.

I do mine myself just be jacking car on ramps and using a hand pump to refill. Do diff oil while your at it for an extra £10.
