    Which fuse disconnects the Haldex?
i have read in the manual and there are various engine management fuses but nothing that states Haldex. any idea what fuse it is?

Edit: It's not listed as Haldex either, something along the lines of rear clutch or something like that.

Just be careful you know what you are doing by removing the fuse. If you are looking at isolating a fault by removing the fuse, well there are a number of devices that communicate with the haldex unit so therefore if there is another fault with one of those other devices in theory you will no know !

unless there is some reason you want to live by the edge of your pants

    lol.
i have had a remap etc. done to the car recently and to me feels really underpowered. so someone said pull the fuse and take it for a little spin in FWD mode as i will be able to feel the power more. so was gonna give it a try.
i had a Revo stage 2 and have been told Revo are ****, and would benefit from a better Map?

Been told Revo are **** by who?

Presumably the same numpty who told you you'd feel the power more in FWD. OK, maybe, but how does help on a long term basis?

What car is it for openers?

just want to have a little fun see how well the power is put down in FWD mode.
    its a A3 1.8TQ.
im just really not happy with the power its producing for whats been done to it.
should be around 220-230BHP but still feels almost standard!

    Which engine code dude?

EDIT: Thats Ok if you want to try it, go ahead, won't do any long term damage, as long as you don't drive it like it all the time. You'll just get LOTS more wheelspin.

yeah was only going to take it for a spin in FWD.
its engine code AUQ. i know Revo Stage 1 should take it to 207BHP and i have had a decat and cat back exhaust system fitted and Pipercross panel filter smoothed airbox with pipercross extra cold air feed forge 007. so assume the Revo stage 2 takes it to around 220-230 not sure though

It shouldnt feel any difference as your car is in 2wd mode unless it's spinning/losing traction anyway

My map is a Revo and it's been spot on, as was the map on my A3 1.8T...

I've got nothing bad to say about them at all....

Again, as with everything though, it's all down to people's personal experiences I guess....

Hmm, AUQ should of had the K03S IIRC so yes, that BHP should be achievable.

You logged it for codes and the like? My Revo map was originally rubbish on my A3 1.8T, however it turned out to be a faulty MAF. No codes for that though, it was a change it and hope job.

Log of the engine and what it's doing would help. VAG COM blocks 002 020 and 115 would be good so we can see mass flow, timing pull and requested vs actual boost.

Also, don't expect too much from Stage 2 over Stage 1, you won't get a whole heap of BHP/Torque extra.

i dont own VagCom i hear so much about it but haven't a clue what it is! ive heard u need a cable thats as much as i know.
i was thinking of replacing the MAF as the cars coming up to nearly 85000 miles and im pretty sure it hasnt been changed.
Eurocarparts the cheapest place to get one?

    **Hijack**

Sorry to step in, but I have a question on this front, so rather than starting my own thread...

My Haldex controller has apparently gone, according to the garage who did some work on it recently.
As I'd just thrown another grand at the car to get it roadworthy (in storage for past 2 years) I didn't want to get the replacement just yet (thinking i'll get the uprated one in the near future, for permanent 4WD, as it only costs a hundred quid more or something) so the garage have removed the fuse for me, so it's just 2WD for now.

I was of the impression that it was fine to drive like this until further notice.

    Is this not the case?

    Thanks a lot,
    Greg
