Haldex blue controller- used price and checking condition?

Hi,is there anyway par fitting the controller to test its working?I'm planning to buy a used haldex blue controller for £500….the owner says he's never used it as he had it with his audi tt 2000.. but it should be in working condition...Has there been any that have failed? and its a straight cash sale so I'm taking his word…..

400-550 seems the normal price range, there's no guarantees for this part, maybe you could get it in writing that you will get your money back if it doesn't work? The blue coating does flake off eventually over time with UK's salted roads, I've never heard of a performance one failing?

I recommend you get new bolts and a new metal gasket from Audi when fitting, they are not expensive.
