Hadlex pump failure

So my car is running fwd currently, plugged it in and stating pump failure, I had the oil and filter changed 3k ago but it is what it is, I have found a genuine pump on eBay stating gen 4 however says it fit 2005 - 2008, it's a genuine pump and £100 cheaper than tps

Can anyone tell me if there all the same or is it just a matter of buying a gen 4 pump

My S3 is a prefacelift from 2007. I have just had a Haldex oil change and filter and the Awesome GTI invoice confirmed Gen 2.
So something wrong there stating a Gen 4 is from 2005 - 08.

Gen4 is definately for facelift a3’s.
There’s a website that does all haldex repairs, you’d be best off talking to them about it. think it’s just haldexrepairs.co.uk

Pre Facelifts are Gen 2, Facelifts are Gen 4

Is you S3 pre-facelift? If so it's Gen2. As my S3 is facelift, it's Gen4.
