Well after coming back from holiday yesterday to see our neighbours have stuck this up

While out in the car today, I've had a scrape in the S3
I was coming off the M1 jcn 39 towards wakefield, onto the main road and up to the next roundabout when I noticed some roadworks coming up. After the roundabout the cones merged my lane into the one outside lane. As far as I am concerned, I was in front of the wagon to my outside and should have been given room to merge. He obviously sees it different and said I pulled into him and should have got in lane sooner
Anyway I have dash cam footage if anyone would care to look and pass judgment.
Hope these work.

Fortunately the cars not too bad
New tyre
New mirror cap
Plenty of buffing with maybe a little paint to the door and wing but I can't tell until it's buffed tbh
I'll upload some pictures later

Need permission, first front view was public

Hopefully sorted now cheers

I thought he'd stopped to allow you in tbh, then accelerates...and not gently

Personally i think your in the wrong , looked like plenty of notice that your lane was being closed off , you actually changed into that lane and then had to go back over when you got to the cones , i would not of done that , just my opinion .

watching the rearview the lorry driver was being very rude not letting you in but i really can't understand why you changed your lane , you were behind those vehicles and then changed lane , you then tried to pull back over , bit naughty and not really reading the road .

Yeah I can accept that point of view Michael, there are many people who turn right at that roundabout as did the white van in front of the wagon.
But once on the roundabout I was infront of the wagon and tbh didn't expect the cones to come up so quick.
Maybe it was a little cheeky of me using the clear lane but that doesn't give the lorry the right to barge past
The highway code does say you should merge in turn at roadworks/lane closures

Looking at the footage, which can be interpreted multiple ways, it looks like he accelerated into you. Hope you get is sorted man.

Strictly speaking going by the rules of the road - the lorry had right of way. However from a courtesy point of view and general road manners the lorry driver was being a bit of a fool. We are all trying to get somewhere with the minimum amount of hassle. Blocking people at junctions is just pointless. Had some lorry driver in static traffic block me from joining a motorway a few weeks ago - for no reason other than the fact he was probably ****** off at being stuck in traffic. No chill whatsoever.

Yes I can understand where you are coming from but everyone else is an idiot mate and you have to expect the unexpected lol

I my opinion, you hesitated. You should have merged in front of him as soon as you saw the cones. There were plenty of room to do so as you were already in front. Instead you stayed in that lane giving him a chance to catch up and get side by side. Chances are he didn't even see you merge. But in your defence the guy is a douche bag!!! He should have let you go in front as you were the only car merging and he wound not be loosing any time.
I think you are in the right here. You were in front, taking first exit in the correct lane at the round about. Unfortunately you hesitated and he took a chance and made a boo boo.
Hope it sorts it self out mate.

I think you probably should have merged in to the right lane straight after the roundabout. I think you were trying to be nice and appear less bully-ish by staying close to the cones rather than just pull in and temporarily straddle across two lanes. The lorry driver did speed up which was a bit aggressive, so let's hope this will work in your favour.

Hindsight is a great thing and at the time I didn't want to cut in front of him on the roundabout. As you can see I slowed up in plenty of time.
I actually thought he was letting me go tbh so he was either miles away or determined not to let me in, he never even moved to his right as he brushed past
