Ok you photo geniuses, iv hav eof have loads of 20/25cm prints iv done around the house. thing is we've recently had some family shots and i want to make a big grid type for one wall. probably 6 across and 5 high. anyone know of any good programs to do this?? i have photoshop, paintshop pro, corel x5 and rastabator but still not able to set it to what i want as they seem to only use fixed templates ... or am i missing something. Rasabator just pixelated massively, could this be down to the image not being a vector?? cheers guys
You got 1 image and you want it to be made bigger? Images are limited by their DPI. Less DPI and more pixelition will happen when you enlarge the image. There is not much you can about it sadly. Vector is an idea but i'm not sure you can do it with people very well.
If the image is small in size, you will strugle to get any good size out of it. Where did the image come from?
Taken on a hd slr by a snapper we know size is 2.12MB, I like photography but my knowledge is minimal.
Ask her/him/them for the TIF of that image, uncompressed. That should get you want you want. Explain aswell what you are doing but try and make ure they don't resize the images. EDIT:=- Can you find the res of the image and DPI?
lol The resultion of the image. How many Pixels along the top and down the size. This will give you the mega pixels and a rough idea of how big the image can be blown up. If you get the DPI (Dots Per Inch) that will give you a even better idea of how big it can go. More pixels the better.
Damo If you have any trouble, i work in a print firm mate, there is a guy here who is really good with reprographics. He uses photo shop, indesign, pitstop etc... Let me know maybe i can get him to put something together
Just a tip a 10mp photo. Is only good enough to hold full quality at a4 size without pixelation Tiff or raw does nothing for image size. Only colour info and data. I sell cameras for a living.
Legal I'm assistant manager of a brand new jessops store. expensive prices but i know about the gear we sell i own a canon 60d for general use. 5d for work use and an ex video camera man for sky.
