Grease/wax behind boot trim

I was cleaning my S3's interior today and opened the trim cover to check for any dirt etc.
I have noticed that there is white thick grease on the bottom of the floor (see picture) the same thing is on the other side. Do you guys have same stuff over there?

It's wax or some sealant & normal in those areas on allot of cars.
