So my V reg A3 is coming of age. Ive just hit 60k miles on the clock and things are starting to fall apart.

Firstly the central locking pump fails. However Ive read on forums and it seems I can simply replace the impeller so thats not an issue.

Secondly my climate control has been running a bit weird as of late, I drove a 50 mile round trip and my car constantly showed a high tempreture on the dash, yet the air con was ice cold.

Found out today the fan had gone and was causing my car to overheat to 120c a few times. Lucky I was on quiet roads and able to sit in the car for 10-20 mins whilst the car cooled down.

Then on the way home as I park my car, I noticed that my right light is so much brighter. I come out of my car and find the bulb had blown on the left side.

Thankfully its payday and I think the car is need of a service.

Can anyone who has had a fan problem give me some advice? Are they expensive to repair?
Also Ive been looking on ebay for an impellor. Would this be a wise choice?

Please advise and you get a cookie :)

Thanks for reading.

Thanks I will try that, but I know the fan is gone and I checked all the fuses.

Just wanted to know if anyone has replaced the ac fan and impellor before and how much work was involved.

Bump.

Can anyone let me know if they have replaced the AC cooling fan before?
