If you have money, eventuri all the way. I have spoken to countless engineers about intake design and one of the tests I am about to do is going to put most of the tuning companies to shame. Pating 500$ for 11hp increase is not worth it. Paying 140$ for 14hp is. The designs you should be looking for are straight through designs. Some tuning companies that use a new aftermarket air intake grille use both sides when in reality the one on the passenger side goes to cool the oil cooler. So they are robbing you of much needed cooling.
Me and my engineer will be doing sone vacuum tests, air temp readings, using anemometer to measure cfm, and then once all data has been recorded we can determine the true differences between the two.
The more important question is why only one of the air ducts is cut for both sides. There are 3 holes but only one cut for each side. They say for snow and water reasons but, only the engineers know the reason why. Interestingly enough, if you cut holes in all 3 you get more air flow. I will never understand why companies block certain portions of the car off. They are designed with curves and all this other **** but they plug them with a plastic piece. Never made sense to me why besides allowing passage for water and potential effect to aerodynamics.
