Will lowering springs from a golf R fit an S3?

I’d say not.

Google eibach proline and sport line lowering springs.

That might help you.

Some people are saying yes they will fit as MQB platform is all the same

Well as there are many different spring versions dependant on model year, original suspension spec etc even for springs designed for the S3, it's a bit of a tricky question to answer based on the basic information you provided.

If you have a make and model number for the R springs, and the exact model of S3 you want to fit them too, you should be able to check on the manufacturer's website if the same model also fits the S3 in question.

They were ST springs off a mk7 golf r. I can confirm they fit perfectly. Got them fitted today after I bought them from a mate.

They will (And clearly do "fit") as they are both MQB but that isn't to say the spring rates are right,
In the grand scheme they should be fine as the Golf R and S3 are so similar but I would imagine there would be progressive rate changes to suit the different car weights. that said I know pattern parts are the same for both cars (Springs and dampers)
To be sure just check the part number with spring maker.
