OK, so the rubber on my current 18's is due for replacement and I've had a set of 19's (8.5 ET 42) waiting patiently in my garage - I'm torn between 225/35/19 and 225/40/19.

I'm after comfort more than anything so leaning towards the 40 profile but I don't want any rubbing.

Any advice?

Well....the PSS is still a good tyre, and well worth considering.

The Pilot Sport Cup 2s are decent dry weather tyres, but a bit iffy otherwise, and the Toyo R888Rs have far better wet grip up to their limits(I'll be trying that soon).

You'll need the 35 profile tyres with 225 or 235 section tyres. 40 will rub with 5 up in the car and your speedo will reading low.

Yeah ET42 is quite a high offset for the little A3 so go safe with 35 profile. Mine are ET50 and I have 40 profile with no rubbing.

Thanks guys. I was hoping to go with the 40 profiles to try and keep some comfort but don't want any rubbing.
