Hi, wondering if anyone can help but recently brought an 2010 a5 2.0 TDI and yesterday after a drive down the m25 and leaving the car for couple of hours, on the way back the glow plug light started flashing with the car going into limp mode (doing no more than 63 mph). Had a pal plug it in and it comes up with 2 engine errors, first being 'particulate air filter' and other being 'intake manifold'... the manifold error came up already when first brought the cAr and will replace that but the particulate filter wasn't. Can any of these 2 contribute to the glow lamp flash and limp mode??

Yes the flashing glow plug lamp normally indicates that the DPF is at or near capacity. Normally when that comes on you should be able to drive it hard or in a higher gear for half an hour or so to clear it.

However, with yours going into limp mode, it may well need a manual regeneration done by a garage, specialist etc as it's to far gone....

EGR cooler caused similar symptoms on my 10 plate 2.0 Golf. Aux water pump (no fault code thrown up) was later found to have failed also and had probably contributed to the fault.
