Sadly i am not working due to poor health, but am getting better slowly and hoping to get some more education to aid getting back to work.

I am not sure whether to persue the mechanics and get something for diagnostics or whether to diversify and do something completely different like photography. I don't have the concentration/disapline to learn something like IT support which i was my idea with computeach once upon a time to do MCSA etc etc

I did the MCSA/MCSE many years ago. Windows 2000 I think it was. And what an expensive waste of time that was!!
The only type of job I found you could get that "qualification" was sitting on a helpdesk helping people to change the wallpaper on their desktop.
Employers just weren't interested in you unless you had proven experience.
I think the problem was the availability of 'braindump' websites which had all the questions/answers to the current exams.
Gotta admit I used them once for a module that I didn't have time to revise for. When I went into the exam, which were always multiple choice, I recognised every single one of the 50 questions and knew which answer was correct... all because I had seen them all already on the braindump sites.

Microsoft were definitely aware of the blatant cheating that was going on but they did nothing about it. The more people that were convinced they could pass the exams the more £80 per exam that microsoft received.
Even our tutor recommended using the braindump sites!!

Microsoft.... the only company in the world where you have to pay them to fix their crappy software?

*** you're record players broken, play another tune, if it wasnt for the softies we wouldnt be anywhere near as far as long as we are now, as nobody would have to compete, try to outdo them etc etc, they've created, apart from pretty good software overall, a catalyst of offshoots that have created the many thousands of other companies from there foresight in the beginning, you cant knock that even if you dont like them.

If it was apple then the tables would be turned, I find it so funny that companies that are successful seem to be brought down all the time.

If you want a company to ***** on, try Dell, fcuking useless company, really are, I'm to the point of standing in front of there UK head office with a big banner saying "Dell Service Is ****" no word of a lie, been chasing my tail or a year or more now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calm down, caaalm down!!

Ok, microsoft maybe aren't absolutely crapola, but they are a p*ss taker on sooooooooooooo many levels. The MCSE tracks as mentioned.... their licensing.... releasing/changing of software without really considering what is best for the user (I think I remember a recent thread started about Outlook by someone who's username starts with a N and ends with an N!).

And you say they have created offshoots by companies trying to outdo them etc.... but I think there are MANY things, better things, that have been suffocated and killed before it even had a chance.... because of microsoft's all consuming presence.
It's impossible to say how far along we'd be without Microsoft as we've never had the chance to see!

Dell on the other hand I find to be pretty brilliant! Low cost PCs, pretty much fully customisable to the spec you want (unlike HP and others), super fast build/delivery, and I have always found them to be pretty quick when dealing with warranty claims. And to be honest, the PCs i've bought seem to go on and on and on.
Maybe different for me as I deal with them from a business front, maybe they go out of their way to help more when you're buying 10 or 20 PCs at once.

Guess it's all down to your experiences with companies.... and mine with microsoft is pretty shitola.

Forever ever?

Forever never seems that long until you're grown, and notice that the day by day ruler can't be too long....

"On May 5, 2000, the five naked-eye planets..."

Does this site still have mods??

I have no idea...it was more of a disclaimer just incase. I have no idea what's going on with this site, it seems the search feature is/ was a lost cause for so long that most have given up using it :(

Perhaps we should create our own audi site! All admins are an elite few from here, while regular members must be topless girls?! muhaha

I used to do that & it got to be so ****** boring & repetetive as knew so many systems & just different name for different features, no different at end of day, then went into IT.

What ****** me of about IT are the absolutely dimwits you deal with that cant even find there cd drive on there laptop even with instructions, but will tell you, they think they know IT when you bill them & how long something should take, do it yourself then if you're so ****** know it all, **** of you muppets, now I am blunt to them & seems to work, the old "treat em mean" seems to work on a variety of levels.

Yep, I get a variety of these on a weekly basis. It amazes me how a small box of electronics can completely baffle some people.

Used to live and work on these, based in not so sunny Scotland!!

HMSVictorious01.jpg

Then i went on to drive one of these, not the newest of trucks (i had an M reg), but quite comfy for an old girl, long hours and low pay though. ( not pulling these trailers, i used to pull Tautliners)

Now i drive these, picking up comercial waste, early starts but early finishes, and better pay. (but stinks really bad when its hot)

Cheers for that, I'm on a general search atm, but am looking for a header tank that doesn't cost millions!!
