Getting a bitdi started thread on A6/A7 forum

Drive It Like You Stole It
Sounds like an interested by project you’ve got going there!

I could well be wrong but I don’t think that engine was ever put in the a4 if that’s why you’ve posted it here? I know it was definitely put in the a6 though as my neighbour has 1

I've just bought a 3ltr BiTDI as well - but as you say, the A6 forum is desolate

The BiTDI as RyanJonS4 says hasn't been in the B8/8.5 - only the 3ltr TDI. Knowing Audi those engines will be completely different.

The engines are not completely different there is a great deal of similarity between the single turbo and bi turbo 3.0 TDI. The main difference of course being the much larger turbo pack at the rear of the engine. However it would be possible to fit it into a B8 A4 as it is used in the SQ5, and the SQ5 is built on the same platform as the B8/B8.5. I think Audi figured if people wanted a performance B8 size car they would buy the S4 . A BiTDI A4 would probably have taken sales away from the S4 as it would have quite similar performance.

if you take a look at the list i put its quite alot.

plus i dont think youd be able to map in the extra sensors and bypasses. due to loom and ecu issues

edc17 to a crs3.3

Turbo has 4 bypasses 3 controlled just for the turbo. which is 1749 vnt with a 3067 wastegated.

more over there has been some improvements internally

port changes, bowl changes

head cooling changes now split feed to cool around more around the valves bowls and injectors

pistons have a slightly different design the crowns have changed and also the cooling galleries and oil squirter

the pins are also now bushed with a different design to reduce friction and increase strength

the injection cycles now have 5 injections rather than 3 due to the dpf position changing

the auto box is now the 2nd gen zf8-55 planet gear box

but my question is why fit a box thats rated to 550nm when the car has 650nm stock ... crazy :fearscream::fearscream::fearscream::fearscream::fearscream:

there are 2 higher versions the 70 and 90 which do 700nm and 1000nm respectively, stupid to me

I'm sure I read somewhere the A6 BiTDI has the same box as the RS6 due to the torque produced. The standard 2/3ltr may have the lower rated box.

There's only 2 bitdi engines the 313hp and the new 320hp with an electronic supercharger too. As for the rs6 box I'll do some research and get back to you. But again it's not power rated it's torque rated on all transmission components

@bobby singh, but I don’t know what you do and even if I would, someone would need to get the parts together for me as don’t have tools, which you do.
Advantage in your side

That’s why, I rather get what I can from the inside (remap, dpf, egr ect) done by pro like you and focus on the outside bits by myself.

Tools are easy to buy :)
I'm just saying inside spec would be more important to me as ripping of trims is something I would want to avoid. Outside like wheels, body work etc is something you can do without too much hassle.

Thx Bobby.
Storing tools in a flat is tricky, with 3 yo running around and opening each and every possible cupboard and drawer. LOL

I'd love to invest in my car with bigger, better, faster, stronger inner parts but my wallet (and wifey) would not understand. According to them two, I don't (or We don't) nee our car to drive faster. Every time I remind myself of that quote, I laugh.
