Hi guys.
As many of you know I have a 2.7tdi avant multitronic which I'm having issues with the gearbox ATM.
Basically when cold the engine revs up over 2000 before the car moves and seems very sluggish until the engine is at temp then it's alot better.
Also getting feedback and vibration through the accelerator. I'm thinking gearbox oil old or wrong oil used.
The garage I bought the car from were supposed to change it when I bought it but wouldn't trust them.
Has anyone had good results from changing the gearbox oil? It's booked in with Audi for Monday but don't want to waste 175 quid
Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated thanks guys
Paul

Sorry to hear that bud, not sure myself but like razza says could possibly be clutch packs

I know it seems like a waste of cash but I always go along the line of simple things first, if you did the oil and it's not better at least you know, and There is always that chance it might cure it, but just my thoughts bud good luck

Thanks @Chop. I'm going ahead with the oil change and will report any change or not so to speak. Super fingers crossed lol

Would really old oil take longer to get to temp and therefore be thicker and cause the gearbox not to operate properly?
Clutching at straws here lol

Tbh I'd take it to a specialist place. Their diagnosis is normally about £90 so cheaper than the oil change.
Only going by my own bad luck, but software updates and oil changes don't help.
What's your reverse like, does it engage ok, especially on a reverse incline? Also what gears do you get the issue on?

There is always a jerk if I put in reverse too quickly but I think that's normal.
I haven't tried reversing up a hill to be honest. It is only when pulling away when cold

richy martin automotive solutions is a local vag specialist (peterlee) also what torque is the remap that you have as they have to be taylord to be lower than the cvt's max

thanks mate, tbh the remap wasn't for huge torque gains and the car has always behaved like this but has been more so over the winter.
if I leave it to warm up for 10 mins in the morning its fine. but if start and go its very hesitant and revs but pulls away very slowly until everything is warmed up. that's whats made me think wrong atm oil or that it wasn't changed and it like treacle!

mine can be pretty bad first thimng on morning, torqe converter not locking up when short shifting but after 5 mins works fine, but for what its worth a oil change is worth it
