Can anybody confirm the size of the spline tool for gear box drain bolt

What model is that ?
My B5 A4 had a gearbox drain plug exactly the same as that and needed the bit that John Lang has linked to in his post above.....
When I did the gearbox oil on my JLU code A3 gearbox earlier this year it was a simple hex bit I needed....
I think I’ve got a pic of my drain plug which I’ll post if I can find it....

Just a little tip - before you undo the drain plug check you can undo the filler plug.

Not the best picture in the world but here’s my drain plug.....the filler was identical .
Think it was a simple 12mm(? or very near could have been 10?) hex ....

Manual 6 speed?
That’s very strange in that it looks nothing like mine!
My A4 was a 1999 model and if yours is a 2005 then perhaps then there’s an early and late drain plug??
