Gear Knob stuck

So i was trying to retrofit the gearknob for my Audi a3 '07 .

But the selector got stuck

How can i fix it ?

Ps. I dont have the tool to pop it back out. I dont mind disassembling the knob

Needs pulling out plus there's a metal bar inside you need to pull back into location before fitting, it's not an easy job unless you've dismantled & learnt the mechanism beforehand.

Any clue on how to dismantle it ?
