Gear knob choices..

Afternoon all.....

I've currently got a aftermarket gear stick and knob on the s3, it's a momo knob with a stick that is a pull up to get reverse job, this was fitted in the car when i got it. Unsure if the gear stick is momo or not, but has a threaded top, and the momo knob has a wee retaining screw on it and isn't threaded so i'm assuming they are separate items..

anyway on to my point...

I'd like to go back to a standard knob, but i think i'm correct in thinking that i'd need to change the whole pull up for reverse, stick, which i'd rather not have to do.. So i'm wondering what options are out there for a oem look that i could fit on top instead of the momo one, which is looking a bit tired and is baltic on a frosty morning..

if you can pull the leather gaiter off and the knob and take a pic. i can compare to mine then. i just fitted the gear knob from the 8P S3. much nicer looking and feel

Having looked closer at the standard 8l gator and is make up, there won't be a way of fitting this knob to the current selector rod pictured above, and I'm pretty sure the 8p set up is very similar to the 8l gator, so I suppose it could take the top off the 8l knob, (the gear selection part) maybe and fit it in to the 'momo' bit of my current knob.

Any other suggestions as to what I could do? Does anyone recognise what make my current selector rod is? How hard would it be to refit a standard selector rod?

I'm pretty sure that's a B&M kit, excellent bit of kit!.. If it is the knob it comes with looks like this:



Which is much better than that flashy momo thing! . . Perhaps see if B&M stock anything or can tell you what other knobs will fit

Yeh, bit odd that they have gone for the momo one. Although perhaps the kit doesn't come with the knob and you buy that separately! And the guy didn't.
Aye, shame the 8p knob won't fit, as its a nice oem upgrade..
