HAHA, I use diesel and they pretty much like anything. BP ULTIMA WOOOOOOOW.
I get 40-60, all depends on how I drive and what journeys take.
44.0 mpg o town driving
50, sometimes even 60.0 mpg on motorway, don't ask i must drive weird or something although I do 70 bob on but 60mpg is very rare. I usually get around 45ish.

i use optimax and doing a gental run on a motorway doing 70-75mph i got 390 miles to the tank running on chipped.
i then had to fill up with a lesser brand half tank so i could get home and get the optimax again, the lesser brand was naff to say the least doing 80 miles it had nearly all gone again so it shows you get what you pay for

I always refill at 1/4 tank (old habits from my 1969 escort and it's dodgy guage die hard), and get about 320 miles from Optimax or BPUltimate, but only about 270 from other fuels. Non-chipped 1.8T, commute about 15 miles, 10 on fast A-roads, 5 in crappy stop-go traffic.
Does anyone know what the Octane measure is for BP Ultima. Did you notice how BP suddenly switched over to it - even providing a leaflet - which told you absolutely nothing about the fuel constituent. Why not?

Considering it's "only" 97 ron, it's ****** expensive!
I put some in last night and it was 83.9, whereas Optimax is 78.9 at a petrol station down the road! Unfortunately, the Shell garage was shut otherwise I'd have gone there...

indeed it is, its just rebadged super unleaded basically, go with optimax, thats 98.5 RON, normal super unleaded cant touch it.

I get between 260 & 300 miles for 3/4 of a tank.

does the mixing of both unleaded and optimax cause problems, i mean i don't always find it convenient to fully empty the tank before refilling...

I am guessing, but half a tank of Optimax (98 RON) and half a tank of unleaded (95 RON) would just make a full tank of 96.5 RON petrol. Therefore you would have slightly more performance than unleaded petrol but not the same as full blown Optimax.
