Fuel leak - help!

I started gettin fuel smell inside the cabin, opened the bonnet and spotted fuel leak from the area shown in the pic.

The cars running as sweet as always and can't seem to tell a difference in the fuel usage and no warning signs either. It's doesn't seem to happen all the time but the leak is often.

Took it to a garage yesterday and funny enough as it happens, there was no leak so couldn't do anything at the time!

Any ideas?

Any confusions on the pic, this is the area next to the coolant bottle, under engine cover.

Right peeps, iv managed to take a pic with the engine cover off. The area where the fuel leak is where the fingers pointing near the 'bottom' silver jubilee clip with the screw. As mentioned it doesn't effect the drive nor has any warning signs on the dash!

Any thoughts?

Yes that is your fuel rail feed or return , so i would get it sorted asap !

Check the clamps/clips are tight where they attach to the rail/hard lines. What year is your car? 02 or 03?

The clamp/clip I untightened and moved it closer as seen in the pic and then tightened again but seems to not have made a difference.

Mine is a 1999 T plate

I think you should get that sorted as a matter urgency or go get a fire extinguisher fitted ASAP

try not to use jubilee clips like that, they don't apply pressure in a perfect circle. OEM clips all the way or get a decent pipe clip which tensions evenly.

Yes unfortunately this is how I bort the car, just ordered the part today from TPS with clips, unfortunately there is back log with parts so iv been advised 10 days...!! So iv left it parked up and using the Mrs's motor.

Will get it sorted asap! I'm surprised I'm still alive :-/

New fuel feed and return pipe and 'proper' clips from dealers. Can't believe I paid £91 for a set of 2 rubber pipes!! Aarghh!
