Fuel Door Leaking

Hi folks - I have an 2012 Audi A5 Sportback and noticed when refueling that there is lots of water below the fuel cap, so the door to the fuel cap must be leaking? Is this a known problem? A recall by any chance? Has anyone else noticed this?

I get this too, but it's only wet, doesn't hold water as I regularly clear the small drain hole below he fuel cap.

I;ve attached an image. See there's a lot of water in mine...I've circled the level of water with red as it's hard to notice.

Maybe the drain hole in mine is blocked?

As Julian says, it's defo blocked mate, use advice above to unblock, and you'll be sorted.

The plastic wire you get for a garden strimmer works for me when doing a wee clean out.

Perfect, thanks guys ! Hopefully that will get it sorted - I was worried my poor A5 would start rusting away !

You can pop the fuel cap in the little hole on the hinge too. Stops it hanging down and marking the paint work....if that sort of thing bothers you....

I just tried the tip of using the garden strimmer wire and it worked perfectly, thanks guys!

To be honest, not sure I even needed the strimmer wire, it was just a piece of dirt in the plug hole. You'd wonder why they make the plug hole so small - there's hardly any negative effects of making it larger, with the added benefit that small pieces of dirt would not clog it!

I never realised there's a holder for the fuel cap in the door, nice tip. Thanks!
