Fuel cap locked

Hi, my fuel cap is locked and wont open, looking online ive found theres a pull cable to release it in the boot. Could anyone give me more detail and steps to go through to get to this cable, thanks.

Red ring pull type thingy in the hatch on the right hand side of the boot?

Yes, cant seem to find it haha doyou have to take anything off or am i being abit dumb?

On my A3 the pull is easily visible (top left corner) when you open the hatch, perhaps the A1 is different, sorry.
