Hey all,

Quick Q. I'm wanting to change my front and rear speakers for same size aftermarket ones (I currently have the non-bose) in a 2006 Sportback. But taking one of the rear door cards off I see the speakers are stuck into a 3 torx-screw bracket, I've taken this out but I want to check what bracket I would need to replace it with to fit aftermarket speakers. They'll be the same size (6.5").

Are these the ones?

Yea I reckon so, they look very similar to the ones taken from the car, I would imagine 3/5 doors share the same speaker brackets whether they're bose or non-bose.

Been looking at doing this as well as I have the same 2006 SB, not being an auto elec or having seen the rear of the door cards are they fed direct or are there connections behind the door card?

Basically when you take the door card off (well, on the rear doors - as thats all i've checked so far) which is a piece of **** to remove (See http://forums.fourtitude.com/showth...oor-Panels&p=30401720&viewfull=1#post30401720) the speaker bracket is held on with 3 torx screws and the speaker cable connector on the outside, easy to pop off and the whole unit comes away.

From what I see I just need a new speaker adapter as mentioned in my first post, and I'll need to cut the Audi speaker connector (as its a special connector) so its just the wires to connect to my new speakers.

To rears look really simple to do, I'll keep it updated here this week when i've done it.

Not sure about the fronts, I've heard its harder to take the cards off (http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/how-to-door-card-removal.77472/) but I would imagine the actual speaker removal is the exact same.
