Hi, just had my cambelt & water pump done by local audi on my s3 and they gave me 'complimentary MOT test certificate' -free mot for life of the vehicle :) didn't know they do that, was pleasantly surprised, respect to audi :kissmyrings:

Wait for it to fail then they will sting you.
My last S3 failed on head light adjustment, the plastic adjuster nut had broken. They wanted to charge me £500 for new headlight.
I told them to stick there free MOT up their ***.
Went a local Audi specialist who adjusted the headlight for me by pushing metal nut on the adjuster and it passed its MOT.

fair comment, but i must say im been done by my local garages many times before, so after buying my s3 i knew i will go to audi, do u pay a bit more yeah, but wot u get is no hassle n no worries about things going wrong, but that's just me n my experience with bodge job not oem parts garages, cos let's face it it's hard to find trustworthy garage these days, sadly...

My Local Audi price matched my cam belt and water pump to my cheapest indy garage and threw in the MOT offer although i need to chase them up on the paper work! Saved £130 off the fixed price of the cam belt and pump :)

I don't know any VAG specialist that doesn't use OEM parts, wouldn't be a specialist otherwise.

i wasn't talking about vag specialist garages...i can't say a bad word about my local audi, so that's way im sticking with them same as i will use AMD for future mods. I always get few quotes in before booking my car in anyway just to know the ball park price...

Read the small print they all have large caveats

As Dan-Jnr mentioned, the only logical way for them to offer free mot's for life is by an extortionate price to fix something when it fails.

A friend of mine is a mechanic and MOT tester and he was saying something similar about kwik fit and how they do mot's slightly cheaper at times, he said that most cases car will fail on head light adjustment and they charge above the average to fix it so it can pass.

Its a great gesture dont get me wrong but if it fails on an mot id get it checked at an independent garage before paying the dealers to sort it out

My OH took her A3 to a halfords on an offer on the spur "oh sh1t my mot runs out tomorrow" moment. They said it failed on brakes, I wasn't having any of it and took it to another station for a double check, it flew through on their rollers. Needless to say on my return I got issued a pass certificate right away. These places p1ss me right off!!

look, no matter where u take ur car, if something seems wrong then just get few more quotes in as simple as that, but my local audi told me that they are just trying to get away from the bad rep they had, and i must say, i will continue to use them until they try to rip me off, but they know that as well, they want to keep people coming back...plus having all ur services done by audi makes it easier to sell, cos buyers will know that u been spending money to keep the car top notch...thx for comments

Full Audi Service History doesn't add value to a car, it's just required to keep your warranty valid.
Anything after that means you've spent over the odds keeping your service history up to to date.
I'd choose Audi specialist service history over Audi dealership history, specialists tend to look after your car more, and treat you as a person not just a customer with deep pockets.

My S3 8L was taken to Audi under recall for coil packs. They cleaned my car for me too, they also added a scratch to the bonnet and one to the door, then refused to admin liability for them. They don't care about your car in the slightest, well not the dealership near me anyway.

Thanks for this. Extra bargaining power when we get our cambelt changed. Might ring around one or two independents as well to see if they are cheaper and if the Audi price match works.
