I was going to add voice control at some point to my car...

As a test I enabled voice control in the bluetooth module...

I must have tried 4-5 times to get it to dial a number... in the end I just used the manual method

... I did get it to work a bit better after some practise...

At least now though when I press button on steering wheel it does not say "But not used"...

Not bad for a freebie though

Yep it only allows telephone module related controls ... I did it several months ago ...

I only post experience today as I saw a query relating to the A6 in this thread on the forum Link:- http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/audi-s...7443-voice-control-worthwhile-option-not.html and thought I'd share ...

If you have factory fit telephone prep then to get full voice control you only need to add a SDS module to the K Box ...

Component protection removal is required and some coding in Link:- Audi Portal: ECU Diagnostic . Audi A6 4F (2005- ) . Gateway J533

SDS module language can also be changed via MMI update discs ... with SDS module in place you get:-

It perhaps may have other functions with say AMI or TV but don't know above info from an A8 SSP ...

The mod in post 1 works on the 2nd & 3rd module 77's shown on Link:- Rosstech wiki for 4F

This is an awesome freebie for the safety factor alone! Can't tell you how much I dislike trying to locate and dial the missus while driving (usually to give an ETA on picking her up or whatever).

Unfortunately, I may have my ears boxed to a pulp if I splash out on a VCDS cable right now, as four new tyres tomorrow means I am already in trouble with the money police
