Hi all, i have done a search but cannot find what i am looking for.
well basicaly what the problem is, Between 2-3k revs the dump valve sounds sort of loud.. But anything over that seems like its very quiet almost like you cannot hear it at all??

I have it set about 8 clicks, Ive tried 16 but then it wont seem to dump at all.
My car is a 2001 Audi A3 1.8t sport (AUM).. No mods at all apart from the valve.

Anyone have any suggestions,
would be very greatful

Many thanks
steve

Yep, change it for a 007p :)

Split-R is not really the best bit of kit for a 20v turbo tbh... they leak air by design and don't sound any louder than a normal DV...

No dump valve will sound loud unless you get a remap tbh, its dumping very little pressure at all so hardly makes a sound..

Remap, panel filter or cone filter and a proper recirculating DV (not a BOV or Split-R)... issues revolving around Split-R's are documented on this forum and yes you may have picked up I am not a fan... lol...

Welcome to the forum btw

Thanks for your advice, Will a cone filter not suffer from heat soak? on all my other cars they done more harm than good?

Nope, it's miles away from the exhaust.

Phone bill at Badger 5 and ask him to get a Jetex out to you in the post.

...again, a topic thats been heavily discussed :)

Lets put it this way, I run a cone filter and have over 370bhp... I have had no issues...

A cold air feed is always a useful addition but you are more likely to suffer heat related issues from the paltry side mount intercooler than a cone filter tbh... you won't really need to start worrying too much until you have had a remap anyway..

like the avoid and plague ? don't get it :moa: ha just been soft ...

actually iv never herd of any good things about the split-R have to go with every one else and say 007p for the win!

just stick a cone filter on and a TIP and if it sounds like mine it will be quite loud

ahh i see, i was looking at BMC's i have a pipercross cone filter thats new and should fit. think that will be any good?

steve

Pipercross as in a foam filter?... not the best either tbh... have heard tale of the foam breaking down and getting ingested by the turbo then its bye bye turbo... Jetex or similar but very very lightly oiled...
