So my car is currently stage 1+ Apr making a very reasonable 335bhp, I'm almost done sourcing and installing parts for stage 2+, Loba pump fitted, Wagner cooler fitted, revo intake fitted, Bcs currently being made should have it by next week and spec clutch on its way from America.
So I have been in the process of phoning around for prices on clutch fitting I've had prices from £300 to £500 but I wouldn't trust half of the garages around by me as I spent 10 minutes with one garage arguing that my car had a dmf and I'm installing a smf which he claimed the petrols are already smf... safe to say I won't be goin there. The £500 price was from an Audi specialist which would be my choice but a lot of money which gets me on to the topic that my good friend is a mechanic and helped me install all my parts so far including coilovers and brakes for free well not exactly free he'll be having a few favours back no doubt, so fitting a clutch on the drive will be a bit too much of a difficult job wrestling sub frames and gearboxes on the floor under a car on axle stands so with the almost release of the tte480 I'm considering selling my other track bike which is be hoping to get around £3.5k for and take out the engine making it easier to fit the clutch and forge it while it's out clean everything up and buy the new turbo if the price is right new hoses etc, is there anything else I'm goin to need? Or need changing?

Any advice would be great cheers

Probably lpfp and injectors for full potential?

I'd be surprised if the TTE480 would take you beyond 450lbs of torque, but that would be my realistic everyday limit on the internals.
I know that works long term, and the APR GTX2867 kit also runs to around that sort of level reliably.

If you are likely to get beyond those levels, forging the bottom end would be a good precaution, and WMI in particular with timing advance could be likely to get towards that.
Maybe speak to Simon and see what sort of figures they've had.

You would need the LPFP uprated, either with an RS pump and appropriate mapping,or a piggyback pump like my USP system.
Injectors.....some would use RS4 injectors, which smoke unless mapped correctly,or Rick's current advice is to use RS3 injectors instead.

Forged parts would set you back at least £1200 for the Pistons and rods, and then add in bolts and bearing shells, and labour on top.

BCS exhaust will help a great deal, and you've already seen Nige and Dave's handiwork for my car....

I was under the impression the stock injectors would be ok for the tte420 according to the Apr website which doesn't mention it so I assumed the 480 would be similar, the way I'm thinking is I don't think my mate is too keen to fit the clutch so I'd have to pay £500 to fit, if we take the engine out he doesn't mind fitting the clutch and when it's out would it not make sense to forge kind of kill too birds with one stone and free labour so I can the £500 off the forging price so for £700 It would make sense to do it no? Plus how long would a tte420 run with out any problems that's just my thinkin.

I'm not intending on goin big turbo as i haven't got the money or the intention but with this "plug and play hybrid turbo" I'd be happy with a quick reliable car and I'm hoping Apr develop a map with the 480 as they have with the 420 because recently they are the only place around here for mapping.

I think I'll map it stage 2+ 95ron map to try and keep the power down once the exhaust is on until I decide what's best and we have some more info on the 480.

The 420 would likely be ok on fuelling but the bigger one would need injectors capable of flowing enough fuel and an uprated LPFP as well.

Rick would be the man for custom mapping.

So been having a think and the release of the turbo price which will be £2500 and forging the car £1200 plus injectors lpfp it's a quite a lot considering I've just spent close to £5k on the car the last few months so I think I'm going to get the clutch and exhaust fitted an enjoy the car at stage 2+ for a year or so and if I get bored then decide what's best if I want to go spend £4K-£5k on the hybrid or bite the bullet and go BT, but one thing I do know is I've owned the car for around 4 years and still enjoy everything I jump in it.

But I can build up little mods In the meantime like Wmi, arb's silicone hoses, alk all the little things that need doing.
