Hi,

I've got a Forge 007 diverter valve on my S3, it's been remaped - which colour spring should I be using? And what are the problems with using the wrong colour spring?

cheers!

Yellow, you may also need some shims. The wrong spring if too soft won't hold boost and recirc it sooner then need, the wrong spring when too hard won't allow the valve to open.

Forge told me Green is the correct spring, are you saying its yellow?

Hi Dean
Thanks for the email
The 007 valves come assembled with a green coloured spring inside as standard , this will be fine on a standard car or a chipped car

I'm going back to std, as I have a few strange boost issues, off/on boost at revs 3-4k rpm :)

is that refering to a S3?
what spring should i be using on a standard 150bhp audi A3 1.8T? will a green spring still be ok or should i get a yellow?

yeah i have a re-mapped 1.8t,should i run the yellow spring?...how does the valve come apart?..does it just unscrew??

Forge spring colours are as follows:

Green 6-8 psi

Yellow 10-12 psi

Blue 14-16 psi

Red 18-20 psi

£11.10 each inc VAT

hope this helps
