I took my 59 plate S3 back to Audi a couple of days ago to look into why the alarm kept randomly going off and Audi have now apparently released a software update to cure the problem. I was told by the guy at the service counter that they have had loads of people going in with this issue hence Audi releasing the update.
To be honest i`m not exactly sure how an update would cure the problem other than maybe they have de-bounced the trigger signals slightly to stop spurious sensor triggers but either way since the update I have not had any problems (fingers crossed) so for anyone else who has this problem give your dealer a ring and enquire about said update.
