As some of you may know I've just bought a rather sexy S3.....And like most it has one or two idiosyncracies....most annoyingly a headlight issue, when driving along at night the main dipped beams cut out totally leaving only the sidelights on ( the full beams still work ) and a headlight bulb warning light comes on the DIS, when you first turn the lights on they flicker which seems odd. I had a small starting issue the night the lights cut out on me which could be connected....I've had the battery and alternator volt checked and they both came up good as new, did a drain check at the same time and that came back clean. Has anybody come across this before? Its left me a little nervous driving at night!

Are they after-market Hids? if so the ballasts are terrible in some of the kits, if genuine try wiggle the wires and make sure the fuse is not loose?
Cheers Dave,they are the original prefacelift lights, I'll give them a wiggle and see what happens. I know this is me being very lazy but would you happen to know which fuse it is?
