fitting usb port

Has anyone fitted a USB port to their Audi?

I have a 2ltr TDI 2009 A3 sportback. I have a one of the Phone holders that slots into the CD slot on the concert stereo.

Below is a few free slots next to the hazard button where I'd ideally like to put a USB connection to use to connect to my phone to charge it.

Wondering if anyone has any advice/resource videos...?

Have you looked at retrofitting AMI in the glove box?

Hi,

Thanks but really want it below the radio so i can have a small lead plugged into the phone when it is mounted on the stand.

Have a cigarette lighter port bu the hand break but that means the leads is coming around the gear stick.

To Clarify though I'm not looking to use it for audio or anything, purely to use for charging my phone.

I did mine a few weeks back.

Bought this part off fleabay. Took the concert radio out with keys and then fitted it in.

I did it a while ago, with the difference of fitting my charging USB in my armrest.

I bought a repair wire from Audi, connected to a spare switched live in the fuse box.
Then powered a 12v to 5v converter from that. Then the Usb powered off that.

My step down converter was a butchered Tom Tom car charger.
