So whenever I get a new (to me) car I have a shortlist of things I'd like to change like internal light bulbs ect.

What do you do to make it feel like your own? And things that are not gonna break the bank, like a set of new mats etc

I've thought about decarbonising the engine (dependant on mileage) £100?

Be interested to know what you have done or are planning to do with yours

Yep the same with regard to the interior lights, plus convert the reversing lights to LED, makes a world of difference

Depends on weather its my car ,lock stock and barrel or on finance etc.
If the latter I cant see the point to be honest but all down to personal choice, if its all mine then i'll do what ever takes my fancy.
I never buy a car on any type of finance so i'll allways do the things I want and like.

just my input chaps.

Usually swap bulbs, can't stand the sight of amber indicators, interior LED's are good as well and any exterior chrome trim tends to go black unless the car is of a similar colour.

Premium fuel, some form of "fuel cleaner" and a service are always done pronto as well regardless of how well the previous owner claims it's been kept.

I often wonder about doing a proper oil change with a flush. Did it on an old Escort that was my pride and joy when I was in my early 20's and every time I checked the dipstick the oil was lovely and clear.

I also bought the OBDeleven kit (just standard at the mo) and enabled some cool things like needle sweep and extra modes in drive select amongst others. Great for clearing fault codes too

Oh, and a luggage net. Those things are incredibly useful!

Any tuning done by anyone? Like new spark plugs etc? I often wonder what someone with the knowledge (like a race engineer) would do to a car

1st I usually do is see what how fast it will go on the way home and then a deep clean, little mods turn into big mods and it never stops so I’ve left my r32 bog standard but my 2001 s3 is another story comfort upgrades, b7 rnse, 2016 a5 fbmfsw, reverse camera and hands free to fit, colormfa ( full diagnostics on board great kit) up graded headlights, newer s3 gear knob, aluminium mirrors, Mtm 19” alloys (to fit) and due to start the 3.2 v6 gt35 swap now I have all the parts

luggage net is a good idea and I always service a new car as you never no if the garage that sold it has actually done it

I used to change out spark plugs on previous cars for what I thought were better ones. No idea if they made a difference or not

I always give it a good clean if dirty and a full service. Not long after that Camberly and water pump also. Just to be on the safe side.
I had my Audi A3 8p 2 weeks now whoop.

A proper seats out interior valet, which I do myself. Scrub every element of the carpets, trim etc, rid all previous owners bacteria! then treat all plastics, polish the glass and any perspex, basically bring it back to as close to a brand new car as I can get it.

Then the same on the outside, chemical wash, paint clean, clay, polish, wax etc.

and then yes, any halogen bulbs get replaced, new number plates, tank of V power and a long run.

Always tried to personalise them by changing appearance. Chrome flashing edging to bottom grilles front end . Alloy wheel change . With higher & wider profile on the rear . With subtle pinstriping . rear exhaust and de- badged ... most fun when my 20v coupe had so much work done I was pulled over ...they thought it was a cut n shut .. full evo functional Bonnet vent with badboy bonnet extension curved to match a customised rieger bumper with corner splinters . Whilst a honda evo accord I believe spoiler ontop of the whale tail spoiler on the rear looked like a escort rs cosworth .
